Laura Neufeld

Stewardship Intern

Laura grew up in Shafter, California (southern Central Valley) and made a big move to Moscow, Idaho in 2023 to study Environmental Science at the University of Idaho. While taking classes for her B.S. and academic certificates in Climate Change and Sustainability, she works part-time at the University of Idaho Outdoor Program as a trip leader and rental center attendant. In her new surroundings, Laura found new experiences and adventures: learning to ski in the snow-covered Bitterroot mountains, practicing plant identification and measurement across Idaho, and many rafting trips on the Lower Salmon River.

During her free time, Laura enjoys outdoor recreation, cooking and baking, watching reality TV, playing video and board games, and spending time with friends and family.
