Wayne Jensen

vice president

Wayne is a lifelong Latah County resident and third generation farmer raising a variety of traditional Palouse crops and some not so traditional crops such as Palouse Prairie flowers and grasses, clover and alfalfa.  He and his wife Jacie own Thorn Creek Native Seed Farm in Genesee and are passionate native plant advocates.

Wayne has a deep passion for agriculture and the soil resource that makes farming possible.  He has served on board of directors of Uniontown Cooperative for 12 years, Pacific Northwest Farmers’ Cooperative for 8 years, Crites Seed Inc for 30+ years, Latah Soil and Water conservation district for 10+ years and the Genesee School Board for 6 years.

“I agree with the Palouse Land Trust mission to preserve farmland and natural areas from development. I think I can bring a farmers perspective to the board along with some knowledge of the challenges of maintaining and enhancing Palouse Prairie.”
