This orientation will introduce you to the Preserve Steward role and the hands-on work that helps care for PLT’s preserves.
During the orientation, we’ll:
Tour Idler’s Rest and learn about its history and management
Learn about PLT’s mission, preserves, and stewardship work
Discuss Preserve Steward expectations and responsibilities
Learn about trail maintenance, habitat restoration, invasive species removal, planting, and monitoring
Practice basic hands-on stewardship activities
Talk about how Preserve Stewards help keep our preserves healthy, safe, and welcoming
What to bring:
Water
Comfortable walking shoes
Work gloves, if you have them
Clothing appropriate for the weather
