Dirt & Do-Good Days: Trail Work Party

  • Idler's Rest Nature Preserve 1187 Idlers Rest Road Moscow, ID, 83843 United States (map)

We’re hosting hands-on trail workdays at Idler’s Rest Preserve, and we’d love your help! These workdays are all about caring for the trails we all enjoy—keeping them safe, sturdy, and ready for wandering boots, curious kids, and muddy dogs.

Volunteers will help with a mix of satisfying, real-deal trail projects like smoothing and regrading trail sections, refreshing gravel, fixing erosion, and installing stairway railings to improve safety. No experience needed—we’ll show you the ropes (sometimes literally), provide guidance throughout the day, and make sure you leave knowing a little more about how trail care keeps our preserves healthy for the long haul.

Come lend a hand, learn something new, and be part of stewarding a place we all love.

What we provide:

  • All tools and equipment

  • Snacks/Water/Warm beverages

What to bring and wear:

  • Long pants

  • Long-sleeved shirt

  • Closed-toed shoes

  • Clothing suitable for variable weather conditions

Come lend a hand, connect with the land, and help keep Idler’s Rest safe and accessible for all. We will meet at the Idler’s Rest parking lot and be greeted by Palouse Land Trust's Community Lands Steward (Craig Malone).

Please note that this work involves physical activity, including frequent bending, lifting, and carrying weight.
