Over our 90-year history, multiple generations have been proud to call the Palouse their home. Across this pristine region of Idaho and Washington we live, work and play. To do this for nearly a century our vision has included what we call “Respectful Agriculture”. Respect is at the forefront of everything we do from research to sales.

Our genetic breeding programs focus on developing Non-GMO Legumes (pulses) for a low input world. Besides the health benefits of legumes, they are good for the environment. When managed properly they assist in increasing the soil water holding capacity, increase soil aeration, reduce soil erosion by wind and water, improve soil structure, increase the soil reserves of organic matter and naturally enhance nitrogen in the soil.

The seed products we create represent Moscow, ID around the world and this is something we take seriously in our marketing campaigns. We combined resources with partners and affiliates in the north and south hemispheres that share our same philosophy of Respect.

The production departments at Crites work with many growers who support integrated pest management, sustainability and regenerative agriculture practices to produce quality seed in a Respectful way.

For Crites Seed, Inc. to continue operations and support our communities on the Palouse Region for another 90 years this philosophy more than ever must include balance. A balance between urbanization, conservation, recreation and agriculture. It is this reason that Crites Seed, Inc. is proud to be a member of the Palouse Land Trust.

Respectfully,

Andy Johnson
