John came to the area from Bothell, Washington in 2008 and now lives near the Palouse Land Trust's Idler's Rest Nature Preserve with his wife, Mary. He retired as the Assistant Director of the Health Sciences Center for Educational Resources at the University of Washington, and has a background in wildlife biology, physiology and biophysics.
He joined the board in 2009 to help monitor the Idler's Rest Nature Preserve. John likes to spend his free time hunting, fishing, traveling, woodworking, and making stained glass. What he most enjoys about serving with the Land Trust is helping protect the unique flora and fauna of the region and "helping private landowners harness their 'vision' for the land for posterity."
