Libby moved to the Palouse in 1976 and completed her Ph.D. in Political Science at WSU in 1984. She spent her academic career at Washington State University, retiring as Dean of the WSU Honors College in August of 2013. Libby joined the Palouse Land Trust to raise awareness of land conservation, especially in Whitman County, and to help preserve the beautiful region she and her family have called home for the past 40 years. Libby has two grown daughters and four grandchildren who enjoy spending time outdoors fishing, camping, hiking, and skiing. She also enjoys traveling, collecting and refinishing antiques, and staying fit, and is active in the Pullman League of Women Voters, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Dining for Women.
